Eye of Anubis Review

The desert sun is rising in the backdrop, lighting up the Pyramids of Giza on the left-hand side. Ash Gaming has made a decent enough visual presentation from this common theme, and Eye of Anubis is all about roaming progressive multiplier wilds. Clusters of 5 to 25+ gemstone symbols are needed to form a win, and the math model is solid except for the 95.76 % RTP, which is a tad below par.

If you’re expecting plenty of modifier action from this grid slot, you might be in for a disappointment. Longer cascading sequences, fuelled by scarab wild multiplier action, are few and far between. At least until you trigger the bonus round, that is, as tension is definitely increased when all wilds (including the triggering symbols) contribute to the global win multiplier. Nothing new to see here really, but still a decent shelf-filler release that gets the job done.

Eye of Anubis Slot Features

The base game is all about the scarab multiplier wild symbol, and these are not removed by the collapsing reels mechanic. All winning symbols are removed however, and this makes room for new symbols and/or scarab wilds to drop down to fill the gaps.

The scarab wilds start with a multiplier of x1, and the multiplier is increased by +1 for each winning combo the wild is part of. The scarab wild moves to a new position for each collapsing win, and you can get several wild multiplier boosts per winning cluster. There is no upper limit as to how high the wild multipliers can go.

The scarab wild serves double duty as the game’s scatter symbol also, and 3 in view in the same spin sequence triggers the Anubis Bonus Round. This awards 6 free spins, and the multipliers from the triggering wilds are added together in the Eye of Anubis that’s now visible above the grid.

All winning clusters are boosted by the global Anubis Win Multiplier, in addition to the progressive roaming multiplier wilds, and each new multiplier wild value is also added to the global multiplier. The scarab wilds function as in the base game in other words, and it’s the wild multiplier value at the end of a collapsing win sequence that gets added to the Anubis Win Multiplier.

The 200 Spins Eye of Anubis Slot Experience

We’ve included a lengthy and somewhat lucrative roaming multiplier wild sequence from the base game, and the bonus round is triggered around 2:10 into the 4-minute highlights video. Simply hit the play button below, if you’re curious as to how it all played out for us.

Review Summary

Grid slots usually come with plenty of modifier action, but there are exceptions. Ash Gaming’s Eye of Anubis is a good example in that regard, as the game revolves mostly around roaming progressive multiplier wilds. It’s somewhat similar to Pragmatic’s Fruit Party 2, which we reviewed the other day, but the big difference is the progressive global win multiplier you build up in the bonus round.

In this game however, the multiplier wilds will always stick around as long as they keep being involved in winning combos, so you know exactly what to expect when they hit. Don’t expect too much from them in the base game though, but things can heat up to the tune of 10,000x your stake towards the end of a good free spins round. There is nothing revolutionary going on here, but it’s still a decent release that certain players might enjoy for a while.

Pros

  • Cluster Pays Collapsing Wins
  • Roaming progressive multiplier wilds
  • FS w/ wilds adding to global multiplier
  • Win up to 10,000x your stake

Cons

  • No other modifiers than said wilds
  • RTP of 95.76 % is a bit below average

If you enjoy Eye of Anubis Slot you should also try:

Fruit Party 2 – comes with x2 wilds that are generated randomly in tumbling win spaces, and these can increase up to x256 in the base game. They can go as high as x729 in the bonus round however, and this can lead to single spin payouts up to 5,000x your stake.

Jammin Jars 2 – is a high-powered, fruity/disco follow-up slot from Push Gaming, and it plays out on a similar 8×8 cluster pays engine grid. Upgrade the RTP via the vinyl collect feature, and win big from the progressive multiplier wild jars. The top-level Giga Spins feature comes with a 50,000x potential.

Golden Glyph 2 – is a highly volatile follow-up to Quickspin’s somewhat underrated original, and it comes with a 7×7 cluster pays grid. The power wild spawns from empty cascading win spaces, awarding modifiers from the bottom reel. Up to 4 wilds can be active in the bonus round, and this can lead to 29,500x payouts.
