Jungle Mega Moolah Review

Jungle Mega Moolah is basically the original game with a face-lift. It plays out on 5 reels, 3 rows and 25 win ways, and the volatility is medium. Payouts up to 1,800x can be landed outside of the progressive jackpots, and the Mega Jackpot holds the Guinness World Record for the highest online jackpot payout ever.

We have a hard time understanding what Microgaming is thinking with this release, as they have plenty of games with poorer visuals than the original Mega Moolah. The graphical improvement isn’t revolutionary either, and we would have much preferred that they did something with the horribly low RTP.

Jungle Mega Moolah Features

All the features are the same as in the original Mega Moolah, so you can skip this section of the review if you are familiar with that game. The wild symbol is by far the most valuable symbol in this game, as 5 on a payline will land you a 600x win. In addition, the wild steps in for all regular pay symbols to help you form winning combos.

You need to land at least 3 of the monkey scatter to trigger the game’s bonus round. You will first be granted a scatter win of either 2x, 3x, 20x or 100x, depending on how many scatters you land from 2 to 5. Everything you win in the free spins round is boosted by a 3x multiplier. However, you cannot win the jackpots during the bonus round.

The Jackpot feature is triggered randomly during base game play only, and you will then be taken to the Jackpot Wheel. You can win 4 different jackpots here, namely the Mini, Minor, Major and Mega Jackpot. All 4 jackpots are pooled progressives, and here are some relevant stats to consider:

  • Mega Jackpot Seed Value: €1,000,000
  • Average Mega Jackpot: €5,086,183
  • Average Mega Jackpot time: 8 weeks
  • Biggest Mega Jackpot win: €18,915,721

The 200 Spins Jungle Mega Moolah Experience

We had some pretty decent base game wins in our session, mostly thanks to the wild symbol. We did not enter the jackpot wheel this time, but we trigger the free spins round at 0:26 into the highlights video you can check out below.

Review Summary

Microgaming has played it safe with Jungle Mega Moolah, as it’s basically a reskin of the the most iconic jackpot game ever made. While this is understandable, it’s also a bit of wasted opportunity. They could have improved upon the stats, as the 88.12 % RTP is still exceptionally low compared to similar Jackpot titles from NetEnt.

It will cost you deep in the purse to chase the dream jackpot for longer sessions here. It’s therefore probably best to use the stats to your advantage, and play only around the time when you believe the Mega Jackpot is about to drop. Visually, the game has been modernized with higher resolution and new animals, but we don’t know if that’s enough for most fans to bother with a change in habitat.

Pros

  • Revamped reskin of iconic jackpot game
  • High value wilds
  • Bonus round with 3x multiplier
  • Holds the world record for biggest online jackpot

Cons

  • RTP of 88.12 % is really low
  • Reskin that offers nothing new except the looks

If you love Jungle Mega Moolah you should also try:

Mega Moolah – is the original safari jackpot game from Microgaming, and everything is the same as in the game at hand except the visual experience. If you prefer the somewhat dated, yet classic, appearance, this game is for you.

Mega Moolah Isis – comes with an ancient egypt theme, and you can win all 4 of the pooled progressive jackpots here too. You will also benefit from a bonus round with 6x multiplier, and a 10,000x potential outside of the jackpots.

Absolootly Mad: Mega Moolah – is a very different Mega Moolah version created by Triple Edge Studios. It comes with rolling reels and a multiplier trail in the base game, as well as a bonus round with a 15x multiplier. The 4 pooled jackpots can also be won, of course, and even the RTP has been improved a bit here.
