Monster Multipliers Review

Playtech partner studio Ash Gaming makes its first attempt at grid slots with quite a controversial Monster Multipliers slot. True to the title, the game takes players to the universe of giant magical creatures, who can bring payouts up to 10,000x the stake. However, once you do some research, Monster Multipliers does not seem too magical, as it’s basically a bonafide copy of a well-known slot game.

At first sight, Monster Multipliers seems pretty cute and charming, however, the symbols on the reels look somewhat familiar. When you take a closer look, you notice they really remind you of Reactoonz. Feature-wise, however, Monster Multipliers has drawn inspiration from another legendary slot, namely Sweet Bonanza. It has the same massive 6×5 grid where 8+ matching symbols pay anywhere, and the gameplay is just identical to the one found in Pragmatic Play’s title. The slot relies heavily on random multipliers that appear during the free games, which is where most wins come from. Anyway, back to the looks, Monster Multipliers is not bad, as the bright cartoonish graphics and a jolly soundtrack keep you in good spirits. Still, there’s hardly anything we haven’t seen before in the niche.

As we head over to the math model, we see that’s where the Monster Multipliers slot is failing. Compared to Sweet Bonanza, it has much weaker stats and offers a lower return rate as well as only half of Sweet Bonanza’s power when it comes to the max win. With that said, the RTP of the Monster Multipliers slot clocks in at 95.7%, which is slightly lower than the average level. The volatility is high, and the maximum payout is capped at 10,000x the bet. Finally, players drop in by setting bets from €0.2 to €500 per spin, which should appeal to anyone.

The reels are made up of weird monsters of different shapes and colors. There are 9 regular symbols that are split into highs and lows – you’ll easily distinguish them by size. They don’t necessarily have to appear adjacent on the reels to award a payout, and you’ll need to land at least 8 matching symbols anywhere on the grid to receive a win. Combinations of 12+ of the lower symbols are worth from 1.25x to 3x the stake, and the higher ones pay from 10x to 50x the stake. However, no Wild symbols are included.

Monster Multipliers Slot Features

Whenever you score a win during the gameplay, a Cascading Wins feature comes into play to remove the winning symbols from the reels and trigger a cascade. Then, other symbols fall down, and new ones appear to fill the empty spaces. The process continues until there are no new winning combinations in view.

Keep an eye on Scatter symbols that can appear anywhere during the base game, since when 4 or more land on the reels simultaneously, the Free Spins feature is activated. Players receive an instant cash prize of 1x, 5x, or 10x the bet for landing 4, 5, or 6 Scatters on the reels, and proceed to the bonus with 10 spins to start with. It’s possible to extend the feature, as 3 or more Scatters landing simultaneously during the bonus award +5 extra spins.

Monster Multipliers Slot – Free Spins

Once you activate the free games, Multiplier symbols step in. They can land anywhere on the reels with a random multiplier value of 2x – 100x attached to them to increase the potential payouts. They stick to the reels for the current spin and multiply the winnings by the shown value when the cascading sequence comes to an end. If multiple bonus symbols are present, their values add together.

Review Summary

All said and done, Monster Multipliers is definitely not bad, but it’s not good either as it is simply a copycat of another slot. There’s actually no point in switching from Sweet Bonanza to Monster Multipliers only unless you’re really into the monsters thing. The latter one has much weaker math and offers twice lower potential, while the gameplay and features are the same.
