It’s understandable that when you create the official Rubik’s Cube video slot, you’re not willing to take too much of a risk. Making the game similar to their own Rubik’s Riches, where the 3D cube is the actual reel set, would perhaps have alienated too many players. Still, we had hoped for a somewhat more innovative and daring concept for this game.

Instead, what you get is plenty of multiplier wild action, both in the base game and during all of the 6 different bonus rounds. The potential is not all that impressive, but it’s decent enough for this kind of volatility. The bet range goes from 10p to £500 per spin, which should suit most players. We had a good time in our 200 spins test session, but we have to admit that this doesn’t really feel like the branded, official Rubik’s Cube game that it is.

The Rubik’s Cube is on display above the reels, and it will twist into new formations on every spin. You will also land symbols corresponding to the current cube formation. If such symbols land they will turn into wilds that can step in for all regalar symbols. If the Rubik’s Cube displays a single color, the corresponding symbols turn into multiplier wilds up to 7x on the 3 middle reels.

You will trigger the free spins bonus round when you land the Rubik’s Cube scatter on reels 1 and 5 on the same spin. Review Summary

The concept of Rubik’s Cube has been tried a few times before, not least by Ash Gaming themselves back in 2013. They have created a more traditional video slot this time however, where the 3D cube still plays a central part. It’s a cute little game really, and it comes with plenty of multiplier wild action. The many free spin options gives you plenty of choice here, but the base game max win is only 325x your stake.

However, you can win up to 2,275x via the largest multiplier wilds in the bonus round, but you don’t get all that many spins to do it with. Only 2 are offered if you go for the highest multiplier of 7x, which means that it’s truly a nerve-racking hit or miss situation. Overall, Rubik’s Cube is a decent enough game, but it lacks the definite authority such an official title should have.
